Description
The Alberta Grant for Students with Disabilities (GFD), administered by Alberta Student Aid, provides financial assistance for disability-related services and equipment needed by full-time post-secondary students. It supports students with a documented permanent disability or persistent or prolonged disability. This is student financial assistance for practical educational supports, rather than research or project funding.
The grant may support services and equipment covered under the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment – Students with Disabilities (CSG-DSE), as well as some costs outside that federal grant. Disability-related transportation costs, such as parking and fuel, may qualify when an explanation clearly establishes that public transportation is not an option because of the student’s disability.
