Description
The Alberta Student Grant for Full-time Students helps lower-income students cover the educational costs of full-time post-secondary study. Administered by Alberta Student Aid, it supports eligible students in provincially designated one-year programs, including Open Studies and University Transfer, apprenticeship education programs, and graduate-level programs. It is educational financial assistance, rather than funding for a particular research field or research project.
The grant forms part of Alberta’s student assistance system, which includes both grants and loans. A single Student Aid application allows consideration for provincial and federal funding, with each assessed under its own policies. Grant funding is limited each school year. Grants normally do not require repayment, but changes to a student’s education or living circumstances can make some or all of the award repayable through conversion to a loan.
