The Albertine Literature & Translation program, administered by the Albertine Foundation in partnership with Villa Albertine’s Books & Ideas department, promotes the translation of French and Francophone literature into English. The program supports high-quality translations across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children’s books, and comics, aiming to reflect the diversity and vitality of contemporary French literature. Funding is awarded to both the original work and its translation, with selections made by an independent committee of experts. In addition to project grants, annual prizes recognize outstanding translators in both fiction (including poetry and comics) and nonfiction.
