    Description

Alcohol Research Group (ARG), in partnership with UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health, offers postdoctoral training through the NIAAA-funded “Graduate Research Training in Alcohol Problems: Alcohol-Related Disparities” program. The fellowship develops independent scholars in basic and applied socio-behavioral and epidemiological research on alcohol use, dependence, treatment, and related problems, with some attention to drug use. Health disparities are a central theme.

Fellows work with mentors whose expertise aligns with their research interests, participate in active projects at ARG or collaborating institutions, and build publication and grant-development skills. Training includes the Advanced Alcohol Research Seminar, NIH grant-writing instruction, statistical training and consultation, and access to UC Berkeley courses and seminars. The program welcomes researchers entering alcohol studies as well as recent graduates continuing work in the field.
