Description
The Aldo R. Castañeda Fellowship, established by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery Foundation, honors Dr. Aldo Castaneda’s legacy by supporting early-career congenital heart surgeons from Latin America. The fellowship provides recipients with the opportunity to spend up to three months in observational training at a North American host facility, ideally under the mentorship of Dr. Castaneda’s mentees. The goal is to advance the skills and careers of Latin American surgeons in congenital heart surgery and promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise across borders.
