Description
The Alexander H. and Helen V. Smith Research Award is designed to encourage and support research on fleshy basidiomycetes and ascomycetes (macrofungi) using the extensive collections of Alexander H. Smith and his associates, housed at the University of Michigan Herbarium. The award provides grants-in-aid to facilitate travel and research using these collections, with the goal of advancing scientific understanding and scholarship in mycology. The award is administered by the Mycological Society of America’s Research Awards Committee.
