Description
The Alice and C. C. Wang Award in Molecular Parasitology, presented by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), recognizes established investigators making seminal contributions to molecular parasitology at the time of the award. It places particular emphasis on novel and significant discoveries about the biology of parasitic organisms.
The scientific scope is limited to protozoan parasites but is otherwise broadly defined. Relevant fields include biochemistry, molecular biology, gene regulation, metabolism, cell biology, developmental biology and host–pathogen interactions. The award combines recognition of internationally recognized scientific leaders with support for their research laboratories. Recipients also contribute to the society’s annual meeting through an award lecture and a symposium on molecular parasitology.
