Summary: Supports U.S. scholars, artists, and professionals undertaking teaching, teaching/research, and professional or artistic projects in Azerbaijan across all disciplines.
Key Information: Research may comprise no more than 50% of a combined teaching/research award.
Description
This Fulbright U.S. Scholar award supports work across all disciplines in Azerbaijan, strengthening relationships between people in the United States and Azerbaijan through educational exchange and community engagement. Teaching can include undergraduate and graduate courses, co-teaching, guest lectures, workshops, student advising, and faculty, curriculum, or program development. Combined teaching/research projects may pursue questions chosen by the scholar or designated by the host.
Professional and artistic projects may include consultations, mentoring, publications, exchanges of expertise, regional outreach, performances, exhibitions, and public events. Placements include higher education institutions in Baku and regional cities, with preference for public universities. Artists and professionals may also affiliate with nongovernmental organizations or art centers. Scholars may be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and engage with host communities alongside their primary work.
