Description
The Fulbright Scholar Program’s Cyprus award supports teaching, research, combined teaching/research, and professional or artistic projects in all disciplines. Scholars may develop their own research or courses, undertake work designated by a host institution, mentor students, and assist with faculty, curriculum, or program development. Detailed programs and work schedules are developed with the scholar and host.
The award advances Fulbright’s goal of strengthening relationships between people in the United States and other nations through educational exchange and international understanding. Alongside their primary work, scholars may give public talks and engage with the host community. Proposals must demonstrate feasible placement and affiliation in Cyprus, taking account of the island’s political situation. The U.S. Embassy in Nicosia provides orientation and support during the placement.
