Description
The Fulbright Scholar Program’s Jordan award supports undergraduate and graduate teaching, independent research, combined teaching/research, and professional or artistic projects in all disciplines. Activities can include mentoring students, developing faculty or curricula, exchanging professional expertise, and producing artistic work. The Jordanian-American Commission for Educational Exchange supports scholars and confirms host affiliations.
The award promotes international understanding and lasting relationships between U.S. and Jordanian people and institutions. Teaching scholars teach two to three classes per semester; combined awards allocate 60% to teaching and 40% to research. Researchers are encouraged to give occasional lectures throughout Jordan. Beyond their primary projects, grantees must complete at least 30 volunteer hours and three knowledge- and Fulbright-experience-sharing initiatives, such as workshops, public lectures, or published content.
