Description
This Fulbright U.S. Scholar award supports scholars, professionals, and artists working across all disciplines at institutions in New Zealand. Activities can include applicant-designed or host-designated research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, workshops, graduate supervision, faculty or curriculum development, and professional or artistic projects. Fulbright New Zealand supports exchange through academic work and engagement with host communities.
Projects must articulate bilateral value and relevance to the United States. Particular preference goes to work benefiting New Zealand, engaging its scholars, or requiring access to individuals, materials, or institutions unique to the country. Comparative projects receive careful scrutiny for merit and rigor, especially those involving Māori or other minority populations. Scholars also give public talks, mentor students, deliver lectures or seminars, and participate in activities arranged by Fulbright New Zealand.
