    Description

This award supports U.S. scholars—academics and experienced professionals—in conducting research, teaching, or a combination of both at public universities in Serbia. The goal is to foster collaboration between U.S. and Serbian institutions, support the development of Serbian higher education, and promote international understanding. Projects in any academic discipline are encouraged, and grantees may design their own research or teaching activities, advise students, consult on curriculum, and engage in public outreach or mentoring. Placements are available at the University of Belgrade, University of Kragujevac, University of Nis, University of Novi Sad, and University of Arts in Belgrade.

The award accommodates both semester-long and academic-year stays (3–9 months), with a Flex option allowing for multiple short-term visits over two years if justified by the project. Grantees must attend a pre-departure orientation.
