Key Information: Applicants residing in Uganda at application or thereafter, and permanent residents of Uganda, are ineligible.
Description
This Fulbright Scholar award supports academics, artists, and professionals working with Ugandan institutions across all disciplines. Activities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, curriculum development, student supervision and mentoring, collaborative research, and professional or artistic projects. Teaching/research scholars should plan an equal split between teaching and research, adjustable to host needs. Professional projects need not include teaching and are particularly sought in creative and fine arts, technology, and innovation.
The U.S. Embassy in Uganda oversees the program locally, emphasizing educational capacity, stronger instruction, and lasting collaboration between Ugandan and U.S. institutions. Scholars may also give public talks and engage with host communities to advance international understanding and cooperation. Approximately five recipients are supported.
