Description
This program provides substantial capital funding for the electrification and decarbonization of regulated affordable multifamily buildings across New York State. Funding supports comprehensive retrofits, including the replacement of fossil-fuel-based space heating and domestic hot water systems with high-efficiency, all-electric heat pumps, as well as upgrades that enable electrification (such as electrical service, ventilation, and envelope improvements). Projects may also receive additional funding for on-site solar photovoltaic (PV) systems when paired with heating electrification. The initiative is designed to align with New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, aiming to reduce building emissions and advance clean energy transitions in affordable housing.
