Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issues this grant to sheriff departments participating in ATV enforcement in Wisconsin. It helps cover county costs of enforcing ATV regulations through patrol work, rather than research or trail development.
Participating departments carry out patrols under Wisconsin Administrative Code NR 50.125. DNR’s patrol materials include daily logs, monthly reports, records of violations and expense documentation, as well as ATV and snowmobile incident report forms. The Snowmobile/ATV Safety Patrol Manual provides application guidance.
