Description
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) funds off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation through ATV user permit revenue and a share of gasoline tax revenue. The program supports public riding opportunities across Oregon, with the goal of providing quality riding areas and safe experiences.
Grants cover trail and facility operations and maintenance, law enforcement patrols, emergency medical services, planning, development, safety education, and land acquisition. Examples include trail patrols and camp hosts; environmental or feasibility studies; new trails and major rehabilitation; and maps, training, and signage. Projects should fit the motorized recreation goals of the land manager’s planning documents and the current Oregon Recreational Trails Plan.
