Description
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) administers this statewide program to provide quality riding opportunities and safe experiences for off-highway vehicle (OHV) users. Funded by ATV user permit sales and a share of gasoline tax revenue attributable to ATV use, the program supplements—not replaces—other support for OHV recreation.
Funding supports routine trail and facility operations, maintenance equipment, riding-area patrols, emergency medical services, and safety education. It also supports environmental and feasibility studies, design and engineering, new trails and facilities, major rehabilitation, and land or easement acquisition for public recreation. Projects should advance the motorized recreation priorities of the 2026 Oregon Recreational Trails Plan and the land manager’s long-range plans.
