The Allianz Climate Risk Award is Allianz Re’s annual program connecting early-career climate risk researchers with the insurance industry. Launched in 2017, it recognizes research that clarifies how climate change shapes extreme weather and how societies can reduce risk and strengthen resilience, including through technological solutions. Shortlisted Global Award research is published in an online compendium.
The program has three tracks. The Global Award focuses on physical climate risk and practical resilience solutions. The Allianz Trade thematic spotlight recognizes work linking climate change and extreme weather to global trade, trade credit, and supply chains. The Asia regional spotlight recognizes climate risk research directly applicable to Asian countries and economies.
