    Description

Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AΩA) runs this annual fellowship to recognize and develop outstanding mid-career physician leaders. Fellows spend one year strengthening their leadership skills through self-examination, a structured curriculum, mentoring, experiential learning, and team-based communities of practice. The program emphasizes “leading from within” through lived experience and servant leadership grounded in professional and personal values.

Each Fellow undertakes a specific project that broadens their understanding of leadership in medicine, medical education, or health care. Projects should define a problem or need, identify barriers, and design, implement, and complete an achievable plan. The goal is to develop inspiring, insightful, engaging, and humble leaders who understand and represent the needs of patients, physicians, medical educators, and trainees.
