Description
The Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant (AFIG), administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, is designed to accelerate the adoption of advanced, renewable, and alternative energy transportation technologies across Pennsylvania. Established under Act 166 of 1992, the program funds projects that create new markets for alternative fuels, enhance energy security, and improve air quality. Eligible activities include the purchase or retrofit of alternative fuel vehicles, installation of fueling infrastructure, and research or demonstration of innovative transportation technologies. Supported fuels include electricity, compressed and liquefied natural gas, propane, hydrogen, biodiesel, ethanol, methanol, and other advanced biofuels.
