Description
The Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant (AFIG), administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, funds projects that foster the adoption of alternative fuel vehicles, the development of refueling infrastructure, and research or demonstration of innovative clean transportation technologies in Pennsylvania. The program aims to improve energy security, air quality, and economic development by supporting the incremental costs of purchasing or retrofitting vehicles and installing refueling equipment for fuels such as electricity, natural gas, propane, hydrogen, biodiesel, ethanol, and other advanced biofuels. Special priorities include new applicants, projects benefiting environmental justice areas, and entities serving seniors, low-income individuals, veterans, or medical services.
