The Administration for Community Living’s Alzheimer’s Disease Programs Initiative supports the development and implementation of dementia-capable home and community-based service systems in Indian Country. Through 36-month cooperative agreements, the program supports federally recognized tribes, tribal organizations, and consortiums representing federally recognized tribes. Its goal is to provide quality, strengths-based, person-centered services and supports that help people living with dementia and their caregivers remain independent and safe in their communities.
The program offers two application options: one for tribal entities that have previously received ADPI grants and another for entities new to ADPI. Previous recipients propose expansions of their funded programs, while new applicants enhance existing service systems with dementia services for Tribal Elders and their caregivers.
