The AMATYC Foundation, the charitable arm of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges, invites proposals from individuals and organizations teaching or supporting mathematics taught in the first two years of college. Its grants support projects addressing specific problems or needs in this area of mathematics education, with defined goals, planned activities, and evaluation of project outcomes.
The program prioritizes alignment with AMATYC’s mission and strategic plan, the perceived value of the proposed work, and its feasibility. Applicants describe the need their project addresses, what they expect to accomplish, and how they will measure success. Funded projects must report results to the Foundation Board and share them beyond the Board at project completion, under requirements established when funding is approved.
