The American Association for Anatomy (AAA) offers this presentation competition for undergraduates, graduate students, medical/dental/veterinary students, and postdocs presenting education or teaching research at its annual meeting, Anatomy Connected. It recognizes the quality and importance of research communicated through oral presentations. Eligible students and postdocs may compete while also receiving a separate meeting travel award.
Research-focused, non-descriptive work receives priority, although descriptive submissions are encouraged. Scientific and educational research are judged using the scientific process, with attention to the literature, knowledge gap, testable research aim, methods, results, discussion, and implications. Abstracts undergo blind review and scoring to select finalists, supporting rigorous assessment and consistency among reviewers.
