The American Conifer Society’s Conifer Research Grant supports fundamental and applied research in the field of conifers. Its purpose is to facilitate research aligned with the Society’s mission, as stated in its Constitution. Supported topics may include propagation methods and techniques, plant pathology, and plant identification methods. These examples illustrate the program’s scope rather than limit it to those subjects.
The Society promotes the development, propagation, and conservation of conifers, encourages their appreciation and landscape use, and educates the public and green-industry professionals about conifer selection and care. A group of interested Society members established the research fund, which made its first grant in 2020.
