This award enables U.S. scholars to spend four months teaching and conducting research in American Studies or closely related fields at the University of Education Upper Austria (or other rotating Austrian host institutions). Awardees will teach two advanced undergraduate or graduate courses, with content and format arranged collaboratively with the host institution. In addition to teaching and research, scholars are expected to engage in public talks, student mentoring, and community involvement to further Fulbright’s mission of international understanding. The program welcomes applicants from a wide range of disciplines intersecting with American Studies, including art history, creative writing, drama/theater, education, environmental studies, fashion, media studies, film/cinema studies, and literature.
