Description
This Fulbright U.S. Scholar award supports teaching or combined teaching and research at the American University in Cairo (AUC), with support from the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt. Projects may address any discipline offered through AUC’s schools of Global Affairs and Public Policy, Science and Engineering, Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, or its Graduate School of Education.
Scholars teach undergraduate or graduate courses, advise and mentor students, consult on curriculum, program and faculty development, and conduct seminars and workshops. Teaching-only awards involve approximately 12 classroom hours weekly, or three courses per semester. Combined awards involve approximately six teaching hours weekly, or two courses per semester, alongside research of the scholar’s choosing. The exchange promotes mutual understanding between Egypt and the United States, including engagement with the host community through public talks and other activities.
