amfAR’s Mathilde Krim Fellowships in Biomedical Research help exceptional postdoctoral researchers transition to independent HIV/AIDS research careers at academic institutions or nonprofit organizations. The program supports biomedical research relevant to HIV prevention, treatment, or cure, linking research funding with the development of scientific independence.
The fellowship has two phases: up to two years of mentored postdoctoral research, followed by one additional year of support for fellows who secure an eligible independent research position. Applicants must propose work sufficiently distinct from their mentor’s research to demonstrate a clear trajectory toward an independent research program.
