Description
AMS Explore is an American Musicological Society initiative administered by the AMS Education Committee to help current and recent undergraduates participate in the AMS Annual Meeting. The program provides travel assistance, registration, and shared lodging so participants can present their research, receive constructive feedback, and become acquainted with the Society’s scholarly community in a welcoming conference setting.
Accepted participants present 10-minute papers in a symposium with other members of the Explore cohort, followed by a panel discussion and general questions and answers. Required cohort activities with peers and Education Committee members help participants prepare for their presentations and make the most of the conference experience. The program combines research presentation with professional development and opportunities to connect with fellow scholars.
