The fellowship provides an 8 to 10 week period for research under the guidance of a mentor.

The fellowship is part of AMS’s broader program of graduate fellowships and undergraduate scholarships, which helps further the education of outstanding students pursuing careers in atmospheric and related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. That broader educational program is supported by AMS members, corporations, and government agencies.
