    Description

The Anatomical Society’s Departmental Seminar Grants provide financial help to bring visiting speakers to university departments and schools working in anatomical sciences and related subjects. The scheme supports seminar activity in both anatomical research and anatomy education, rather than funding research projects directly. Past awards have supported standalone talks, workshops and visiting-speaker contributions to larger symposia.

Supported research topics have included tissue engineering for tendon repair, connective tissue function, functional morphology, developmental biology and therapeutic targets for Parkinson’s disease. Education-focused events have explored virtual reality, digital visualisation, art-based anatomy learning, assessment and technology-enhanced teaching. The funding is specifically for visiting speakers’ travel, subsistence and accommodation.
