Andlinger Center Grants to Promote Research Collaborations support Princeton researchers’ team-building and proposal preparation to develop new interdisciplinary research directions and large-scale proposals.
Funder: Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment
Due Dates: March 1, 2027 (Spring cycle) | October 1, 2027 (Fall cycle)
Funding Amounts: Up to $30,000 for no more than one year, pending availability of funds
Summary: Supports Princeton researchers’ team-building and proposal preparation for new interdisciplinary research directions and large-scale proposals.
Key Information: Prospective PIs must consult Charlie Sharpless before preparing a proposal; funding does not support research projects.
The Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University supports planning activities that bring interdisciplinary teams together, catalyze new research directions, and prepare large-scale proposals. The program recognizes the time and resources needed to assemble collaborative teams and focuses on the groundwork for future research rather than funding research projects themselves.
Supported activities include regular working groups, focused workshops with internal and external partners to develop whitepapers and pre-proposals, and planning meetings for proposal development. Teams already well-positioned to pursue funding may also use an award for proposal preparation, including hiring outside consultants. The emphasis is on high-impact activities that build teams and develop ideas into collaborative proposals.
