Description
The Andrew Nord Fellowships in Rheumatology support doctoral students conducting rheumatology research at the University of British Columbia. Administered by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, the fellowships are available across UBC faculties, with recommendations made by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. The award is offered through both the Spring Graduate Awards Competition and the Affiliated Fellowships–Doctoral competition.
The fellowships were endowed through a bequest from the Estate of Andrew Nord, who experienced arthritis from age 15. His legacy focuses on preventing the disease’s devastating effects, finding better ways to live with it, and discovering its cause in pursuit of a cure. The endowed fellowships total $110,000, with individual fellowship offers of $25,000 annually.
