Description
The Animal Welfare and Appreciation Grants are administered by the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation through the Effie C. Skaarud Animal Welfare and Appreciation Fund and the Wanda Covington Endowment. In partnership with donors, the Foundation supports programs that promote animal welfare, enhance habitat, help animals assist people, or increase public understanding of the animal kingdom.
The opportunity supports work addressing animal welfare, health, and safety, including the prevention of cruelty. Eligible activities include improving habitats and living conditions for cats, dogs, other household pets, and animals of all kinds. Programs in which animals benefit people as companions or protectors are also considered. Both new and existing programs serving the greater Sioux Falls area may receive support.
