Description
The Community Foundation of the North State created the Animal Welfare Endowment Fund to provide for the care and feeding of animals in Shasta, Siskiyou, and Tehama counties. The fund provides general operating support to qualifying organizations whose primary work serves homeless or owned pets, local wildlife, or working animals.
Supported work ranges from reducing pet overpopulation and keeping pets in homes to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary care. Working-animal support focuses on organizationally owned animals serving local residents. Competitive applications demonstrate collaborative relationships with other organizations and use data to establish local needs and show the impact of their work. Applicants working with homeless or owned pets are asked to describe their results specifically in terms of lifesaving outcomes.
