Description
The Vermont Arts Council’s Animating Infrastructure Grants support public art that becomes part of community facilities and services. The program aims to help communities pursue livability, walkability, safety, economic vitality, and vibrancy through projects where artistic expression and practical function work together.
The Council defines infrastructure broadly: it can include buildings, trails, water and sewer systems, roads, power systems, parks, parking lots, and vacant spaces. Applicants can seek support to select an artist and develop a design, or to fabricate and install art that is already fully designed. Projects may incorporate permanent or temporary work and community participation.
