Description
This community mini-grant program supports native tree planting and invasive plant removal in neighborhoods, parks, and communities throughout Anne Arundel County, including the City of Annapolis. The Chesapeake Bay Trust administers the program, with funding from the Anne Arundel County Forestry Board and the City of Annapolis Watershed Restoration Fund.
The program aims to increase tree canopy and engage residents in environmental stewardship. Community projects raise awareness of tree canopy, watersheds, air quality, streams, rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay, and the actions residents can take to restore and protect them. The Trust strongly encourages applications from underrepresented groups and projects that increase participation by traditionally underrepresented communities, including communities of color.
