Description
The Depoali Memorial Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, supports Washoe County schools in improving their classrooms to directly benefit students. Its annual grants fund innovative classroom projects, professional development, curriculum programs, and needed classroom tools and supplies. Principals, teachers, administrators, and student organizations with faculty guidance and approval may apply.
The fund honors Kendyl Ruth Williams Depoali, whose 33-year career with the Washoe County School District included teaching at Clayton Middle School and McQueen High School and serving as principal of Sparks High School. It reflects her commitment to public education and its capacity to open doors and provide equal opportunities.
