Description
The American Sociological Association’s Annual Meeting Travel Fund (AMTF) helps sociologists access the professional development opportunities available at its Annual Meeting. The fund addresses financial barriers to participation, including those faced by sociologists in adjunct positions, those working at under-resourced institutions, and international scholars for whom attendance can be prohibitively expensive.
The program supports participation in the Annual Meeting rather than a separate research project. Awards combine travel assistance with a waiver of meeting registration fees and are intended for non-student ASA members listed in the meeting program. An Annual Meeting Travel Fund Selection Committee, appointed by the ASA Council, reviews applications.
