Description
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) runs an annual solicitation for research addressing issues facing Ohio’s transportation system. ODOT staff submit ideas, which are evaluated and prioritized before approved ideas are developed into requests for proposals (RFPs). Researchers respond to the posted RFPs rather than proposing topics independently through this annual process.
ODOT’s Research Section administers the competitive, contract-based program. Its goal is to provide transportation decision-makers and professionals with information, tools, and technical solutions. Projects are selected through proposal review, followed by contract development and authorization to begin work.
