Description
The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) Excellence, Equity, and Inclusion Fellowship supports students and professionals who have overcome substantial obstacles related to their backgrounds or life circumstances while pursuing education and careers in public policy, analysis, and management. It sponsors participation in APPAM’s Annual Fall Research Conference, offering recognition, networking, leadership development, and lasting engagement with the public policy community rather than project research funding.
Launched in 2016, the fellowship has supported more than 300 emerging researchers. Formerly the Equity and Inclusion Fellowship, it has been redesigned as a two-year experience with a cohort of 26 Fellows to encourage sustained participation and professional growth. Its undergraduate component introduces students to public policy and strengthens the pipeline of diverse students into graduate public policy and public affairs schools.
