Description
The Appliance Upgrade Program, administered by NYSERDA under the U.S. Department of Energy's Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) initiative, aims to accelerate the adoption of high-efficiency appliances among income-eligible New Yorkers. Through this program, participating retailers and contractors can enroll to offer point-of-sale rebates on ENERGY STAR® certified heat pump clothes dryers (and in the future, induction stoves/cooktops/ranges) and provide necessary electrical upgrades. Retailers deliver rebates via appliance coupons, while contractors are eligible for installation incentives and can perform required electrical panel and wiring upgrades. The program is designed to support both customers and participating businesses, with a focus on equitable access and energy efficiency.
