Description
The Institute of Historical Research (IHR), Royal Historical Society (RHS) and publisher DC Thomson are partnering on the second year of the Applied History Fellowship in 2026–27. It supports early career historians in developing the publication, impact and engagement of their academic work, while exploring how historical expertise can be applied beyond higher education.
Fellows undertake a two-day-a-week online placement with The Social History Archive, working with its team on ongoing projects in a commercial history setting. The partnership aims to build connections across the history community, broaden career possibilities and strengthen applied skills useful both within and outside universities.
