The Osteology Foundation’s Applied Research Grant supports researchers and teams conducting clinical research in oral tissue regeneration to improve oral health through personalised, patient-centred care.
Funder: Osteology Foundation
Due Dates (Anticipated): May 2027 (Submission deadline)
Funding Amounts: Up to CHF 125,000 per project
Summary: Supports interdisciplinary clinical research in precision oral tissue regeneration to advance preventive, diagnostic, and patient-centred care.
Key Information: The 2026 guidelines restrict eligibility to clinical research (T1–T4), excluding preclinical and foundational research.
The Osteology Foundation’s Applied Research Grant supports early-career and established researchers and teams translating scientific findings into clinical applications in oral tissue regeneration. The programme aims to improve patients’ oral health and well-being through preventive, personalised regenerative medicine, with active patient participation in research. Collaboration between basic scientists and clinicians, including groups from different universities or entities, is strongly encouraged.
The stated 2026 priorities are bio-functionalisation of regenerative biomaterials and prognostication of regenerative wound healing. Biomaterials research explores biological modifications, such as biomimetic molecules, active factors, or surface modifications, to accelerate regeneration; dental implants are excluded from this focus. Wound-healing research combines biological and clinical outcomes to assess markers, signals, or molecules that predict recovery or treatment success. Projects must demonstrate relevance to evidence-based dental or medical practice.
