The Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) supports clinically oriented and conservation research involving reptiles and amphibians through its Research & Conservation Grant. The program advances preventative medicine, husbandry, and scientific research in veterinary medicine, alongside conservation and humane treatment through education, captive breeding, and habitat preservation.
The ARAV Conservation & Research Committee oversees proposal review, with priority given to clinically oriented projects, conservation-based projects, and proposals submitted by ARAV members. Review considers clinical significance, conservation relevance, feasibility, and research methodology. The ARAV Executive Committee determines the number and amounts of awards based on the committee’s recommendations.
