This fellowship provides funding for research, study, and a broad range of scholarly activities related to the archaeology of Portugal, including the Azores and Madeira. Eligible activities include excavations, research projects, colloquia, symposia, publications, and travel for research or to present at academic meetings. The fellowship is also open to Portuguese nationals (archaeologists and archaeology graduate students) for research and study in the United States, on any archaeological topic. The program aims to advance understanding of Portugal’s archaeological heritage, foster international collaboration, and support both established and emerging scholars in the field.
