Description
The Archives Development Program Direct Grants are administered by the Tennessee State Library & Archives and funded solely by the Tennessee Secretary of State. The program supports local archives across Tennessee in improving the storage conditions of archival collections, archival operations, and public accessibility. It serves official county or municipal archives and not-for-profit organizations legally authorized to maintain records generated by a county or municipality.
Supported work includes purchasing or replacing archival shelving, preservation folders and boxes, other archival supplies, and environmental monitoring devices. Grants also support contracted conservation treatments, part-time workers, digitization that improves online access to collections, and registration fees for webinars from approved organizations. This direct grant is separate from the State Board Programming Regrants offered on the same program page.
