The American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC) offers fellowships for research on Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia in the social sciences, humanities, and related sciences. Supported by ARISC General Funds and private donations, the program seeks to strengthen South Caucasus scholarship and contribute to regional and trans-regional research. Projects are assessed for their significance to the applicant’s field and to the needs and interests of the host country and ARISC.
Applicants may propose research requiring travel to the South Caucasus or remote research without travel to the region. Remote support can enable archival access, translation, research assistance, digital projects, and publication. Fellows conducting research in the region are expected to give an ARISC-sponsored public presentation related to their work.
