The University of Arizona NASA Space Grant Fellowship Program supports graduate STEM education, NASA-related research, and public engagement with science. The Arizona Space Grant Consortium runs the program in collaboration with the University of Arizona Graduate College and applicants’ home departments, funding up to six fellowships each year.
The program offers research and outreach tracks. Research fellows undertake faculty-mentored work relevant to NASA while developing their science communication and outreach skills. Outreach fellows pursue defined educational projects that promote public understanding of NASA-related research. Both tracks emphasize communicating science beyond the university and improving the engagement activities available to communities. Fellowships competitively recognize academic merit, high achievement, and the ability to present scientific research to the public.
