The Giovanni Armenise-Harvard Foundation and Airalzh Onlus jointly offer the Armenise-Harvard Airalzh Mid-Career Award in Neurodegenerative Diseases (AHA-MCA). The program supports independent mid-career scientists in Italy, addressing a stage of research careers that the partners consider insufficiently supported. Beyond funding individual research, the initiative aims to encourage other foundations and private and public institutional donors to support this group.
The award funds basic or translational research focused on neurodegenerative diseases; clinical research is excluded. A project may introduce a new research direction or form part of an ongoing program. In either case, applicants must define specific research aims and provide a budget showing current or pending support where applicable.
