Description
The ARS Friends in Research Award supports basic, translational, or clinical research in any area of rhinology. Administered through the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) and the Academy’s Centralized Otolaryngology Research Efforts (CORE) program, it encourages both early- and mid-career investigators to apply. The award combines research support with career development, including the investigator’s background, career goals, training activities, and training in responsible conduct of research.
CORE provides a centralized application and peer-review process intended to support meritorious otolaryngology research, help young investigators prepare competitive applications, and prepare surgeon-scientists for peer-review service. The ARS Board of Directors determines how many awards to authorize annually, with funding dependent on application merit. Recipients must share their findings with ARS and give its journal first refusal for publication.
