Description
Women’s Studio Workshop (WSW) offers the Art-in-Education Workspace Residency in Rosendale, New York, for artists who want to combine independent creative practice with teaching local school students. Run with the Kingston City School District, the program brings students into professional studios for concentrated arts learning. Resident artists collaborate with WSW staff, the AIE program manager, and school teachers on curriculum connected to students’ classroom work.
The residency welcomes artists ranging from experienced teachers and professors to those with minimal teaching experience who want to build their skills. Artists may develop personal projects in intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screenprinting, or darkroom photography. Spring residents teach fourth and/or eighth graders, while fall residents work with high school students.
